This Acceptable Use Policy (this “Policy”) describes uses of the HeyInvest Services that are not allowed. It forms part of the Terms of Service between you and HeyInvest LLC, and capitalized words not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms. This Policy applies to every Authorized User and to all Outreach. It is not exhaustive: we may treat any conduct that harms HeyInvest, our users, the people in our database or the public as a violation, even if it is not listed here.

1Unlawful, Fraudulent and Harmful Conduct

In short: Do not use HeyInvest to break the law, deceive anyone or harm people.

You will not use the Services to:

  • violate any Applicable Law, including Securities Laws, Marketing Laws, Data Protection Laws, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and sanctions laws;
  • commit or promote fraud, including securities fraud, investment scams, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, “pump and dump” schemes, advance-fee schemes and affinity fraud;
  • impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your identity, credentials, affiliation, authority, track record or relationship with anyone;
  • harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully or abuse anyone, or encourage anyone else to do so;
  • publish or send content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful or that discriminates against anyone on the basis of a protected characteristic;
  • infringe or misappropriate anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights, or disclose information you are obliged to keep confidential;
  • distribute malware, phishing links or any code designed to harm, intercept or take control of any system or data; or
  • contact or collect information about anyone you know or should know is under 18.

2Prohibited Raises and Businesses

In short: Some offerings and businesses may not be promoted through HeyInvest at all.

You will not use the Services to raise capital for, or promote:

  • any offering you are not legally permitted to make, or any offering by a person subject to a disqualification you have not disclosed as the law requires;
  • any investment that promises guaranteed or risk-free returns, or whose returns depend on recruiting new investors;
  • digital assets, tokens or similar instruments offered or sold in violation of Securities Laws or other Applicable Law;
  • any business that is unlawful where it operates or where you are soliciting, including the unlicensed sale of regulated goods or services;
  • weapons trafficking, illegal drugs, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, terrorism or any activity that facilitates violence; or
  • any sanctioned person, country or region, or any activity that would cause HeyInvest to breach sanctions or export laws.

3Platform and Data Integrity

In short: No scraping, sharing access, reselling data or getting around limits and security.

You will not, and will not help anyone else to:

  • scrape, crawl, spider or harvest the Services or Investor Data, or use bots, scripts, browser extensions, headless browsers or other automated means to access the Services, except through features and APIs we provide;
  • share login credentials, let anyone use your account, or create or use multiple accounts to obtain more trials, Credits, data or features than you are entitled to;
  • circumvent or try to circumvent Credit metering, usage limits, rate limits, sending limits, access controls, security measures or geographic restrictions;
  • access or try to access another Workspace’s data, or any part of the Services you are not authorized to use;
  • probe, scan, load test or test the vulnerability of the Services without our prior written consent;
  • resell, sublicense, publish or otherwise disclose Investor Data, or use it to build or improve any competing product, dataset or AI model;
  • remove, alter or obscure any notice, identifier, watermark or seeded record; or
  • use the Services in a way that degrades their performance or availability for others.

4Outreach Standards

In short: Every message you send through HeyInvest should be relevant, truthful, clearly from you and easy to decline.

These standards apply to all Outreach, in addition to Section 10 of the Terms. They are minimum standards; Applicable Law may require more.

4.1Identify yourself. Use your real name and your real organization, send from an address or account that you control and that can receive replies, and make clear who you are and why you are reaching out.

4.2Be relevant. Contact investors only about opportunities that reasonably match their professional investment focus, such as the sectors, stages, geographies and check sizes shown in the Services or otherwise known to you. Do not use Investor Data for bulk, untargeted messaging.

4.3Be truthful. Do not use deceptive subject lines (including false “Re:” or “Fwd:” prefixes), false urgency or scarcity, fabricated traction, misleading claims about other investors, or claims of guaranteed returns. Do not hide or disguise links or attachments.

4.4Mutual connections and introductions. Mention a mutual connection only if the connection is real, and never state or imply that someone introduced, referred or endorsed you unless they did. Connectors decide for themselves whether to make an introduction; do not message anyone in a teammate’s name, or use a teammate’s network, without that teammate’s permission.

4.5Make opting out easy, and honor it. Every cold email must include a clear way to opt out. When anyone replies that they are not interested, unsubscribes, asks not to be contacted or asks how you obtained their details, stop all further Outreach to them across every channel, and answer their question honestly. Keep follow-ups to a reasonable number and spacing.

4.6Respect volume limits. Stay within the sending limits, schedules and pacing shown in the Services and within the limits set by LinkedIn and your email provider. Do not use multiple accounts, mailboxes or domains to evade limits, filters or reputation systems.

4.7Protect deliverability. Send email only from domains you are authorized to use and have authenticated (for example, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC). We may pause sending from any mailbox or Workspace whose bounce, complaint or unsubscribe rates are high or approach the thresholds published by mailbox providers.

4.8Securities communications. If your offering relies on an exemption that prohibits general solicitation, do not use Outreach to offer or promote it to people with whom you have no pre-existing, substantive relationship unless you have determined, with your counsel, that the communication is permitted. Include any legends or disclosures that Securities Laws require.

4.9LinkedIn. Follow LinkedIn’s User Agreement and Professional Community Policies. Keep connection notes personal and truthful, do not resend invitations to people who have ignored or declined them, and do not use HeyIntro to send messages that LinkedIn’s rules prohibit.

4.10Calls and texts. Do not call or text any number obtained through the Services using an autodialer, a prerecorded or artificial voice, or for marketing text messages, unless you have the consent the TCPA and state laws require, and always check do-not-call lists where required.

5Reporting Violations

In short: Tell us about misuse, and we will look into it.

If you believe someone is violating this Policy, or you received unwanted Outreach sent through HeyInvest, email legal@heyinvest.ai. If you want us to stop outreach to you through HeyInvest or to remove your information from our database, use our privacy request form.

6Enforcement

In short: We can pause, limit or close accounts that break this Policy.

We may investigate any suspected violation of this Policy. If we determine, in our reasonable discretion, that a violation has occurred or is likely, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including warning you, removing content, pausing campaigns, blocking Outreach, disconnecting Connected Accounts, limiting access to Investor Data, suspending or terminating accounts without refund, and reporting conduct to law enforcement, regulators or affected platforms. We may also cooperate with investigations by LinkedIn, Google, mailbox providers and governmental authorities.

We may update this Policy from time to time by posting a new version on this page. Updates take effect when posted unless we say otherwise.
